lead CNC Lathe machinist

Are you a highly skilled CNC Lathe Machinist looking to perform advanced machining operations

while providing technical and organizational guidance? 

This role combines hands-on  production work with coordination and support

to ensure efficient workflow and high quality output.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Performing a wide range of machine shop operations, including setup, programming, and operation of manual and CNC Lathes.
  • Reading and interpretiing drawings and internal information to manufacture and assemble parts to specification.
  • Create and adjust CNC programs as needed.
  • Inspect parts against customer requirements.
  • Complete and maintain required inspections and production records in ProShop ERP.
  • Detect and report defective materials, questionable conditions, or process issues.

Team Lead Responsibilities Include:

  • Organizing and maintaining department tooling, fixtures, and setup resources.
  • Evaluating and implemention of new machining tactics, tooling strategies, or process improvements.
  • Providing programming support.
  • Being involved in daily scheduling meetings.
  • Collaborating with the Manufacturing Planner on production planning.
  • Coordinating with peers and management to ensure production priorities are met.
  • Taking on complex or technical machining work, ensuring critical jobs run correctly and efficiently.

Must Haves Include:

  • Being a Graduate from a certified technical school or 5 or more years of proven CNC Lathe experience in a machine shop environment.
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints, models, and specifications to setup and produce precision parts.
  • Programming experience in G&M code or CAM software.
  • Experience with GD&T is desired.
  • A strong attention to detail with the ability to complete accurate, legible paperwork and maintain records on time.
  • Competence in basic math including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Proficiency using a computer to look up and record data.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot practical problems with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Effective communication, both verbal and written, and sound reasoning ability.
  • A commitment to comply with all company policies and procedures, including all safety regulations.

CNC mill MACHINIST

Are you a skilled CNC Mill Machinist looking to work in a challenging

but rewarding environment?
This role will work on a variety of parts based on our customer need.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Setup and operate CNC Mills and perform typical machine shop operations.
  • Reading and interpreting basic blueprints to create products.
  • Create original CNC machine programs
  • Inspecting parts against customer requirements.
  • Completing and maintaining required inspections and production records in ProShop ERP.
  • Training and assisting new and current employees.
  • Working off blueprints to develop processes and tooling to make product.

Must Haves Include:

  • Being a graduated from a certified technical school or have 3 or more years of proven experience as a CNC Mill Machinist in a machine shop environment.
  • Having the ability to use a computer to look up and record data.
  • Having the ability to read and interpret basic blueprints.
  • Using analytical skills to read and understand blueprints, models, and other specifications to put machinery together.
  • Having the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Youth Apprenticeships

Are you interested in exploring a career in manufacturing? Rhine Machining offers youth apprentice opportunities in CNC Machining to high schools in the following counties: Manitowoc, Calumet, Sheboygan, and Fond du Lac. Students, preferably in their junior year of high school, can spend part of their school day earning credit and wages while gaining valuable hands-on industry experience under the guidance of a Rhine mentor. The youth apprenticeship length is typically two years.
